Today's Agent Skill: Accounts Receivable Aging Report Interpreter

What It Does

An accounts receivable aging report tells you exactly which clients owe you money and how long they've been sitting on it — but most small business owners generate it from QuickBooks or Wave and don't know what to do next. The older the invoice, the less likely you are to collect it, and most businesses lose thousands each year simply because they don't have a system for following up on overdue accounts systematically.

How It Works

The agent takes your AR aging report — a list of invoices, amounts, client names, and how many days past due each one is — and produces a prioritized collection action plan. It categorizes each account by risk level, generates a specific follow-up script for each aging bucket (30/60/90+ days), and flags accounts that have crossed the threshold where a collections agency or small claims filing is the more effective path.

How to Deploy It

Run this skill in Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor, or Windsurf by exporting your AR aging report from QuickBooks, FreshBooks, Wave, or your invoicing tool (File → Export → Reports → A/R Aging Detail) and pasting or uploading the data. Run it weekly and execute the suggested follow-ups the same day — response rates on past-due invoices drop sharply after 90 days.

## Input
- AR aging report data: client name, invoice number, invoice amount, invoice date, days outstanding
- Your standard payment terms (e.g., Net 30, Net 15, due on receipt)
- Any context on specific accounts: ongoing relationship, dispute, promise to pay, or previous follow-up attempts
- Your preferred follow-up channels: email, phone call, formal letter, or a mix
- Maximum amount your jurisdiction allows in small claims court (varies by state, typically $5,000–$10,000)

## Steps
1. Categorize all outstanding invoices into aging buckets: Current (0–30 days), Early Overdue (31–60 days), Late Overdue (61–90 days), and Critical
